What ages is the Fair Lawn clinic for?+
Ages 4-9. We also run 10–13, advanced juniors, high school and adults at other North Jersey locations — see firstservetennisnj.com.
My kid has never held a racket. Is that a problem?+
No — most of our students are complete beginners. Our coaches specialize in first-time players.
How much does the winter session cost?+
$360-$400 per 10-week winter session. Session 1 starts November 16.
What if it rains or snows?+
We play indoors at 21-05 Morlot Ave in Fair Lawn. Rain or shine, all winter — no makeups needed.
Do I need to bring a racket?+
Bring one if you have one — otherwise, we have loaners on-site. Recommended sizes: 21-inch for ages 5–6, 23-inch for 7–8, 25-inch for 9.
What should my kid wear?+
Athletic clothes they can run and swing in. Regular sneakers are fine — no cleats or sandals. Bring a water bottle.
Is there parking?+
Yes — free parking on-site at 21-05 Morlot Ave.
Can I watch the lesson?+
Yes. There's a viewing area for parents.
What happens in a typical hour?+
Warm-up games, drills and skill of the day, live rallies and games built around the skill, and lots of high-fives.
Are kids grouped by age or ability?+
By ability, within age bands. A newer 7-year-old won't be stuck with a much-stronger 7-year-old.
How big are the groups?+
Small enough that every kid hits the ball a lot. We keep coach-to-kid ratios tight.
Do you offer makeup classes?+
For legitimate absences we do our best to fit kids into another group. Contact us the same week.
Do you have sibling discounts?+
We do — contact us for details on siblings signing up in the same session.
Can I sign up mid-session?+
Sometimes, if space allows. Reach out and we'll let you know.
What towns do families come from?+
Every town in Bergen County. Biggest groups from Fair Lawn, Paramus, Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Hawthorne, Elmwood Park, Saddle Brook, Wyckoff and Ridgewood.
Do you run spring and summer sessions?+
Yes - new sessions run through spring and summer. Winter registration is open now; join our list to hear about spring.
Are the coaches certified?+
Yes — First Serve Tennis coaches have been running kids and adult clinics across North Jersey for years.
What if my kid doesn't like it after a few weeks?+
Contact us. We'll figure out what's going on — often it's just a group fit, not the sport.
